What to expect
Your journey will begin with a typical Omani breakfast at a local coffee shop where you’ll taste the most famous Omani bread and a delicious cup of karak tea! Warmed by this breakfast experience, you will visit the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Middle East and the richest in terms of decorations and precious artistic details. Later you’ll have a stop at the picturesque Muttrah Corniche and you’ll visit the Muttrah Souq which retains the chaotic interest of a traditional Arab market albeit housed under modern timber roofing. You will stroll through the Souq, where you will have the chance to buy Omani specialties like Frankincense, Omani daggers, spices, perfumes, and local handicrafts.
You will also be able to enjoy a moment along the corniche admiring the various cruise ships on the water at Mina Al Sultan Qaboos Port. You will then visit Bait Al Zubair Museum. The Museum tour will provide you information about the country’s structure, cultural tradition, and heritage. You’ll see the typical indoors of an Omani house, with the original furniture and all the memories of the past life. Then, you will have a photo stop at the official residence of his Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, The Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali. From the palace, you will travel through the old town and you will enjoy the lunch at a local Omani restaurant. End of the tour and drop at your hotel.
