Once your free time there is over, it will be time to leave for the Val d'Orcia, a Unesco heritage area characterized by expanses of emerald hills that turn into golden fields during the summer.
See if you recognize a well-known scene from a famous film based on the life of a Gladiator of Imperial Rome which was in fact filmed on these hills along our route. First visit Montalcino, a village extremely well known by true Tuscans for its wine, the best in all of Tuscany. Walk through the streets and typical shops. Then, explore the village known for its production of cheeses, including the one with its name called Pecorino di Pienza. Lastly, marvel at the panoramic view of the Val d'Orcia again whilst returning to Florence.
