What to expect
Embark on a journey away from the bustling streets of Paris and venture alongside your knowledgeable guide to one of the esteemed Champagne houses, such as Mercier or Moët & Chandon, nestled in the heart of Epernay, the capital of Champagne. Delve into the depths of the cellars during a captivating 1.5-hour walking tour, immersing yourself in the history and craftsmanship behind each bottle. Conclude your exploration with a delightful tasting of Moët Champagne, engaging in discussions about its intricate creation with fellow enthusiasts in your group.
Following lunch (not provided), rejoin your air-conditioned minivan to depart from Epernay. You'll journey through Reims Mountain Regional Nature Park, renowned for its Grand Crus vineyards, before arriving in Hautvillers alongside your guide. This picturesque village, famously dubbed 'the birthplace of Champagne,' is primarily celebrated for its notable former resident, Dom Pérignon. As an innovative Benedictine monk, Pérignon devoted much of his life to crafting and refining Champagne.
Throughout the scenic route, punctuated by quaint villages and occasional stops, you'll bask in the vineyard's beauty. The culmination of your day will be a visit to a family-operated winery, where you'll indulge in a tasting of four distinct Champagnes before returning to Paris.
