What to expect

Discover two unmissable sites in Cambodia with a private guide and comfortable transportation from Siem Reap. Explore Beng Mealea, a spectacular archeological site in the jungle, and Kampong Kleang, a traditional village built on stilts floating on Tonle Sap Lake.In the morning, discover the ancient ruins of Beng Melea, a lost jungle temple on the outskirts of the Angkor Complex. Some say Beng Melea may have been a prototype for the centerpiece of the empire, Angkor Wat. Completely overgrown by jungle, the temple has a mysterious feel to it. Enjoy fantastic photo opportunities of trees growing out of towers, walls covered in thick green moss, and tree roots entwined in the crumbling structure. In the afternoon, hop on a boat and cross Tonle Sap Lake to Kompong Khleang, a fascinating village built on stilts that is home to about 6,000 people who earn their living mainly through fishing. Depending on the time of year, your visit will give you a different experience. During the monsoon season starting in May, the streets fill up with water and become canals that are navigated by boat. In the dry season from March to April, the water recedes revealing the houses perched high on wooden stilts.
