It is the late 1200s, while the castellan is away, the castle is conquered and Rosania Fulgosio, wife of the castellan, falls in love with the man who besieges the castle. Later, the soldiers leave the castle and the castellan, informed of his wife's betrayal, plans a terrible punishment: he has a cavern dug in the rock under the foundations of the castle and locks his young wife in it.

Rosania dies in this horrible way and her spirit remains attached to the place of her unhappy existence, manifesting itself on certain nights with moans and groans that would be heard often since then by those who inhabited the castle. The diaphanous figure of a young woman dressed in white would also sometimes be seen wandering in the park or in the rooms of the castle.
