Nicosia is a fascinating city to explore – offering you a glimpse of two very different worlds. This tour starts in the Cypriot southern area and passes the 'Green Line' buffer zone to explore the northern part of Nicosia. Your first stop is the St John's Cathedral built in the Franco-Byzantine style – unique to Cyprus – and the Cyprus Folk Art Museum, housed in the premises of the old Archbishopric Palace. Next up is a walking tour through the historic streets of Laiki Geitonia inside the Venetian city walls. It's a maze of winding streets with churches, squares and ornate buildings, and feels more like a village than the heart of a city,After passing the Green Line to the north, you'll hear tales of the city's history and culture as you tick off some of the main sites. Then, walk back into the southern area to Ledra Street and embrace modern city life under your own steam.

Onze gids in het Engels was zeer bekwaam en wist heel veel te vertellen over van alles over de stad en als je iets niet begreep in legde ze het nog eens uit

Mooie excursie en zeer informatief. Boekingsproces is voor verbetering vatbaar. Met name het betaalproces, na het invoeren van de betaling werd er geen verbinding gemaakt met de website. Betaling was al gereserveerd. Ik kreeg mijn e-ticket pas de volgende morgen.

Door deze excursie krijg je inzicht in het ontstaan van het huidige Cyprus, ook leer je van alles over de geschiedenis en cultuur. De reisleidster Lula (haar Cypriotische naam ben ik vergeten) is een topper, ze verteld vol liefde en enthosiasme over Cyprus. Ze weet alles over de geschiedenis en cultuur. Ook de oversteek naar het Turkse gedeelte van Cyprus was heel bijzonder om mee te maken, door 2 doaune posten en je komt een een geheel andere wereld. Lula bedankt je hebt onze trip naar Nicosie onvergetelijk gemaakt
