The guide for Knossos was very knowledgeable and the pace was just right, given that it wasn't very busy on the day we selected. The time allowed for on our own exploring at Knossos was just right. Our guide gave us a good orientation of Heraklion so that we could easily navigate for our own selected place for lunch (not included) and the archaeological museum.

Knossos was the highlight of the tour although it is a very popular destination and it was very crowded. I don’t think it suits a large group like ours as you are shuffling single file through the crowds and often lose the signal of the guides audio. Quite often the guide in front was talking about something that the last of the group were minutes behind. We had a double decker bus and some of the group had been on for an hour before it picked us up the an 1.5 hrs to the first location.

Bobi, our guide was absolutely excellent. The facilities at Knossus are not good and this wasn't explained until everyone has been picked up, it was hard to prepare. Also, lots in Heraklion is closed on a Tuesday, not a disaster, but again, helpful to know in advance.

Not enough time at Knossos palace at all! Our guide rushed us round and we kept loosing her and couldn't hear what she was saying if you got slightly out of range of the listening device. I was very disappointed that we were rushed round. At one point the guide advised us to just go in one room (not the throne room) take pictures and get out as another group was coming, the guide was more concerned about them than us! The Knossos palace is why we went to Crete! Extremely disappointed

Knossos was too busy. Far too many groups allowed in together … Berger management of the sight. Disappointed We felt we would have liked to be given the opportunity to wander roubd on our own, we would have got more from the experience, we like to sit and absorb the history ..We would have gained more by just sitting and taking it in. Heraklion was good as we were able to explore and not tied to a guide.

Our guide Eleni was amazing! Even though it was the busiest she’d seen Knossos this season, she showed us everything, kept us all in the shade as much as possible and looked after the group throughout the experience. She was knowledgeable and very friendly.

Needed more free time at the Palace. We were sent off on our free time at 11:35, but had to be back at the bus for 12:00 which, given the crowds and the walk to the bus, translated into little more than 15 mins. Then, once we were on the bus and heading into Heraklion, the guide said we would have 3 hours free time to look around! We really could have done with 30-45 mins of that time being at the Palace.

We found the day very long, if you are on an early pick up, we spent two hours each way. We first went to Knossos and it was very busy, that's what all the excursions do. As there were also three cruise ships in port as well. It would have been better to do Knossos in the afternoon. The tour guide was very nice and accommodating. Driver did a good job as well. Overall though going from Rethymno be prepared to be on the coach for a long time.

Tour of Knossos Palace was good with very knowledgeable guide. One downside was the long (1hr) queue to see throne room so we did not get to see. Tour of Heraklion was dissapointing, not much of guided tour in reality.

Listed a minimum 8 hour duration but wasn't. Bus was 1 hour late to pick us up so guide had to rush through the tour (she was good though) hence no free time to explore after Knossos the tour as we were herded back onto the bus to see Heraklion. Total duration was a little under 7 hours.

The tour started late, we were waiting over 40 mins for coach pick up. No where to sit not much shade . If we had been told it was very late we could have sat in a cafe. The guide was very informative. Once everyone had had a comfort break we made our way into the site. We were able to look around and hear her commentary though the ear piece we had . In Heraklion we were taken through the town and shown the way to the harbour. We would recommend this tour.

Caterina was just a joy from meeting us at our bus stop, the first of the day, to her knowledge and nurturing of everyone within the group, she was just super. She clearly loves her job and her home island which enhanced our day. The bus driver whose name I sadly forget was great and felt very safe.

We had Maria as our guide and she was the highlight of the trip. She was knowledgable and passionate and really brought Knossos and its myths alive. She gave time to rest in the shade as it was a hot day without letting us miss anything. Knossos was busy but manageable and Maria pointed out so many points of interest in Knossos and Heraklion. Would recommend

No free time in Knossos.. literally had 10 mins at the end of the guided tour. Also ticket stated that we had to bring passports which were not looked at. With 2 7 year old to watch we could have done without the extra worry of carrying passports around unnecessarily.

Knossos was too full with very large cruise ship group passengers. Tui knows this is a problem as I've seen the same problem on recent reviews . The guide told us that Tui knew it was a problem. I wonder why then, times are not changed. We saw little of what we paid for because of long queues. Tui could probably work out times when cruise ships are likely to be in. When we arrived, we were rushed by the guide to join another group and she said we were 45 minutes late and wasn't welcoming.

The palace tour was interesting, although we did have to queue for a while in the hot sun to see the throne room. The ear pieces worked well throughout. There was enough time in Heraklion and we were able to peruse at our leisure. The tour guide kept the tour interesting.

It's not TUIs fault that Knossos is hugely overcrowded, which was the biggest issue. But at Knossos, I think I would have preferred the option of a guide book and 2 1/2 hours to wander, rather than the endless chatter from the guide through the ear piece provided, with 15 minutes at the end to try to go back to the bits that were worth pictures. No disrespect to the guide, but I think the option of "DIY" should be offered.

I didn't enjoy the tour of the palace and felt I should have saved a bit of money by going on a tour that just gave more free time there. The problem was the group was far too large. I was so far behind the tour guide that as she spoke nothing she said correlated with what we were looking at. As a result, I felt I learnt very little about the place and it was very frustrating.

It was a very good day, with lots of information given. The fact that the guide held a space in the que for part of the tour whilst an adult with children could stand in the shade as had a que of 45 mins on a very hot day. Some more temporary shade spots for hot days at Knossos Palace would be handy for hot days

Enjoyed both Knossos and Heraklion. The only minus is the coach didn't have toilet facilities! We were 1st pickup and to stay on a coach with no facilities for almost 2 hours was very uncomfortable.

Personally Heraklion wasn’t for us. We did have a poor experience eating lunch giving my wife stomach problems. The tour guide however was an absolute credit to the company. She personally walked her to the chemists and even went in to the chemist to explain the issue. Absolutely fantastic. I would potentially look to include lunch from a reputable establishment known to the business as choosing places to eat in a short space of time in a big town can be stressful.

This tour was really great value for money. Our tour guide Maria was so knowledgable and friendly, we learned so much about the history of Crete and the mythology. We visited in August so it was very busy but never felt too crowded. The one downside was the many trips to other hotels to pick up other guests. We spent 5 hours total on the bus from Elounda. It was nice to see some other resorts and my daughter could sleep so not all bad! I would still recommend it for the info and convenience.

Katerina our guide was brilliant, really knowledgeable. We visited on a day when a cruise ship had come in and the site was incredibly busy with long queues outside in the heat. Katerina did her best to keep us cool, leading us to shaded areas when she could.

We enjoyed the trip, but was disappointed to find out that we paid £51 each for our children and entrance to Knossos was free for them so £102 for a bus was very expensive and not value for money at all. The guide was very good, although she did depart before dropping off anyone at the hotel which is the first time I’ve seen that. Plenty of time for shopping, overall good but not happy with price for children

My son is 13 and we had to pay more for him thank my 9 year old due apparently due to his age meaning the prices being considered an adult by the Palace. It was very clear that his entrance to sites was free as he as under 18. There is no need to charge extra for children over 12. The ticket had 0 and we were told that under 18s are free at all Greek sites. The cruise ships being in meant the site was so busy so you couldn’t really take you time and look at stuff.

The pick up point was an hours journey from where I was staying so I cancelled at the last minute. TUI staff phoned me the evening before to confirm I would get a refund but was then refused the refund when I returned to the UK as I had no proof that the phone call had happened. TUI staff phoned me so I had no choice in the communication medium but that was then used to refuse refund. Terribly planned excursion and extremely disgraceful customer service upon return to the UK.

Pobi was very helpful and informative on the tour of Knossos palace and explained things well. Being fast tracked in was great and the arphones helped us hear the ininformation easily. Worthwhile trip so you know the history. Great! We were further back going through the town and with so much noise, felt like we may have missed some information. We did enjoy the town and shopping eating experience was very nice. Recommending the tour and Pobi and the driver. Enjoyed the day ththoroughly. :):)

The Palace tour was very interesting, our guide Irene was very knowledgeable. We went on 1st July and it was very hot to be stood outdoors at midday, we suggest you start the tour a bit earlier in the day during the high summer months. There wasn’t much to do in Heraklion as there wasn’t really the time to visit the Museum. So if the tour started earlier and then finished a bit later it would allow time to visit the Museum and do it justice.

The highlight was supposed to be Knossos Palace visit. It was very busy so no fault of the guide, however after her tour there was less than half an hour of free time given to explore the ruins (minus 10 minutes queuing for toilet!). Then to be given 3 hours in Heraklion was too much time. The balance was no good in my opinion. The Palace was what I had booked the trip for. Disappointed.

Knossos palace was much too crowded, why go there on days when you know cruise ships will be arriving? The guide was very knowledgeable but unfortunately it was too much information to take in. I would have liked more time to explore at my own pace. It was an eleven hour day for us, but most of that time was take up with picking up and dropping off other passengers.

Caterina is a very knowledgeable guide, she was always available to answer all questions and told us about of myths, keeping us busy during the bus ride. However, unfortunately the bus did not picked us up in our hotel, which was a bit disappointing and we had to walk to the nearest pick up point about 30min walking far.

This experience was absolutely brilliant. Our guide Maria was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and funny! I loved how she linked the facts to Greek mythology. I would say this is unmissable. The time in Herakleion is also lovely. We spent it in the Herakleion museum.

Excellent tour guide Maria, very enthusiastic and made Knossos much more interesting than if we had visited by ourselves. The 3 hour each way transfer from Elounda is really too long, you should consider running a separate bus from Malia and Hersonissos. The location map for pickup points is incorrect in Elounda as the bus stopped in the square not where the markers were for Manos or Elounda Church. If it stops at Manos, put the marker there!

The guide was very good. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We were told to take our passports with us. These were not needed. The guide said she had asked that we be told to bring hats or an umbrella for use while queing in the sun to see the throne room. We were not told this.

The coach was late so it was all a bit rushed around knossos she could have cut down on some of the talk so we had more time to explore at the end. As it turned out we only had half hour to visit toilets and get back to the coach. When we got to heraklion she just walked us down one street and then left us to it, bit disappointed ??

Guide was good and enthusiastic. It was a shame there was a delay getting into the Palace due to new policy of proving children's ages so time spent rallying around to get ID. The pace of the tour felt slow and ear piece useful though annoying but we came away with some facts and idea of how Palace once stood. Pace a bit slow at Heraklion as just wanted to venture out and have lunch but overall it was value for money especially cost of transportation.

It was a good trip; one drawback was that the group was large,meaning that the people at the back of the group didn't always have chance to correlate the commentary with the area of the Knossos sight being pointed out.

We were lucky that the trip wasn't on the hottest day so standing in the queues for the throne room etc wasn't a problem. Good to get some free time in Iraklion and found great place for lunch. It's a shame a short guided visit to the Archaeological Museum is not included but understand that not everyone wants to add this.

The experience overall was average. The driver was standoffish to guests on the bus and was late during pick up. The guide was lovely and provided various information about Crete’s history and mythology. Knossos Palace was very full of tourists (expected) and we received info about the palace via ear pieces which had a limited range. There was only 30 minutes or so free time for Knossos Palace. Heraklion was 3 hour free time which was OK but the city is very modern so there’s not much to see.

The coach was lovely very nice to have air conditioning in all seats. The guide was very knowledgeable but didn’t half go on and on about the same things. The guided tour was disappointing as there were too many groups trying to see the same things all at the same time. This resulted in queues in full sunshine and midday heat to see the highlighted attractions. Opting not to join the Heraklion guided tour we enjoyed a few hours exploring alone until it was time to leave and head back

The whole experience was excellent. The driver was very careful especially on the narrow Cretan roads and the guide was superb. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Knossos and the Cretan way of life at the time. She managed to link her knowledge with mythology and other religions and was very well organised. She made sure that all the party were included with the information and tried to find shade when explaining different aspects of the site.

Maria, our guide, was exceptional, excellent. She was full of fascinating stories but because there was very little shade it was sometimes hard to concentrate. The virtual reality device was cumbersome and awkward in the heat. We only had one device between the two of us and we gave up in the end.

The guide seemed very knowledgeable and friendly, we were given an earphone for the Palace and City however these only worked in a certain range of the guide and we missed parts of the detail because we were caught behind other people and couldn't keep up! The Palace was far too busy, and it felt slightly rushed - we didn't get much time at all to explore afterwards and we felt like we missed areas. It would be better to do a tour of just the Palace so people can focus on that.

Our guide Poppy was so lovely, kind, knowledgeable,interesting and informative. I visited with my 2 daughters 11 & 9 who found the palace tour a little too long/hot (very exposed to the sun & no shade). Our coach driver reversed into a van on picking us up , smashing the entire back window which is why I’ve marked down on safety!! Think it would be better to get to the palace earlier, so you arrive in Heraklion for 12-1 ( lunchtime) it’s a long time going from 9 until 2 for lunch for children.

The collection was not from the hotel, but from a pickup spot. Over 1 km away. Which we had to walk to, and then wait at, for over 70 mins before the bus eventually turned up without even an apology for being so late. We had the TUI app, and they had our phone numbers, so contacting us to say we did not need to hang out in 35C heat for over an hour for a bus that was running late. This really cast a shadow over the rest of the day, reduced time in Knossos, etc. Very disappointing for price paid.

We got on the coach at 07.05 at our hotel and did not arrive at Knossos until 10.15! All the information said a maximum of 2&1/2 hours on the coach but this was longer - caused by customers who were late or did not turn up! There should be a 5 minute limit to how long the bus waits before leaving as it meant everyone else waiting an extra 30 minutes in the bus. The driver and guide were good, Fotini was very knowledgeable. Knossos was very busy and the ticket machine broke so more wasted time!

Knossos Palace was interesting, but crowded and expectations should be set around how much there actually is to see. Entrance fee is only 15 Euros. The "tour" of Heraklion was more here is a fountain see you back here in a couple of hours. Description of trip also mentioned a market but this didn't really materialise. So trip did feel a bit expensive for what it was.

Our guide Veta, was excellent. She’s knew everything, was friendly and spoke in a way appropriate for adults and children. The kids (11yrs) enjoyed it as much as we did. The guide always tried to stop in shade, luckily we went on a day with a breeze but it was still very warm and Knossos was busy so there were times were you needed to wait in sun as well. Tablets provided were excellent especially for kids as it provided a view of how it used to look. Would highly recommend if you enjoy history.

However, due to this we found her presenting (respectfully) to be 'too detailed', with little humour & often we waited in the burning sun listening to intense historical facts that went on and on. The trip included a trip to Knossos Palace, which the guide admitted had very few original pieces left on site. Much of Knossos Palace has been reconstructed and all of the main/original artefacts are now found at the Museum in Heraklion, this city is also part of the trip.

Our guide Irene was knowledgeable and dealt very well with queues at the site, making sure we were all looked after and kept entertained. We took our children and she took special care to check they were OK. It is a long day for kids but perfectly manageable if you prepare. Our Tui rep warned us there was no lunch provided which could have been clearer from the experience description and we were especially grateful for that advice as we could plan for late lunch at the end of the tour.

Maria the guide was great and very caring - she made sure we were all in the shade as much as possible. She was also very knowledgable. The tablets showing what the palace would have looked like were great but also felt this took attention away from what Maria was saying. Heraklion was lovely and we could have easily stayed longer. A child was sick on a seat before we got on the coach and continued being sick, and no attempt/cleaning products had been given by staff which was not good.

The guide was very good. The coach was full and had to collect from several hotels so that took some time. Knossos was very busy and having a large group is limiting. It would be more enjoyable in a small group or on your own. We found the 3D augmented reality pads a bit of a gimic and wasn't a fan of the concrete early 20th century 'repairs' which I think detract from the site. It's a shame the heraklion part of the trip doesn't involve the museum as for us that was much more interesting.

Our Guide's knowledge was fantastic! She did a fabulous job of giving plenty of information as well as being very welcoming. Our driver was a miracle worker and got the bus through spaces that seemed impossible. We were told the museum in Heraklion would take around an hour so we saved that much time for it but in reality it could have been more like 2 - there was so much to see. This was a long day but very much worth it. Maria, our guide, gave us information during the journey there and was incredibly knowledgeable about Knossos. It was VERY hot the day we visited but she made sure we took hats and drinks with us. She made sure we spent plenty of time in the shade. We learnt so much about Minoan history both here and at the archeological museum in Heraklion. By general consensus we had three hours in Heraklion which was enough time to have lunch near the harbour

Popi, the tour guide was amazing - what an asset! She was so friendly, knowledgable and made the whole trip run smoothly; we really benefited from having her as our guide around Knossos. It would have been great to have slightly more time in Heraklion (maybe 1.5 hours more) - there was time for sightseeing OR eating, not both! Overall though, probably the best excursion we've ever booked via TUI.

We enjoyed the trip, the guide was very knowledgeable & was conscious of the party & the heat, seeking out the shaded parts. I think we were quite lucky as it was quite quiet the time we went & only started getting busy when we left to visit Heraklion. The short tour of Heraklion was good & then we were left to have lunch, explore & visit the museum ( the children’s ticket didn’t include the museum so to do have to pay extra). The trip was about 10 hours in total, so be prepared for a long day.

The guide was clearly very unsure of himself and looked lost, he left people standing in the sun for prolonged periods with no direction as to what was going on. This lead to people then filtering off to use the toilet facilities and extending this wait further. This could have been managed if he had given a time to move into the museum and allowed people to manage their own needs and find shade etc. The audio tour was very hard to understand. We spoke to guide and left the tour halfway through.

Knossos itself was ridiculously busy. Not the operators fault. It was also very hot… to be expected in August. The history of it and age is mind blowing. The best part of the tour was the trip to Venetian Heraklion. Visit the museum. It was amazing and linked everything together having just been to Knossos.

The whole holiday was absolutely fantastic. The only negative was once we had landed at Gatewick, we were made to wait for 2 hours for our luggage. I complained to the luggage desk and they had no idea what was going on or the status of our luggage. Maybe in the future have someone on site to ensure people get their luggage in a timely fashion.

The site - Knossos - was presented as accessible for all although in reality anyone with more than a very minor impediment would find the whole trip extremely challenging. More open information for the site's conditions would have helped. Not a fault of the trip organization but rather of the local site's presentation.

Excellent trip, if you enjoy history and archaeology. The information given by the rep was 2nd to none definitely would not have enjoyed it is much has she not been with us. However, it is very open, so in the peak season make sure you take plenty of water and either a hat or an umbrella whilst you are standing to get into the throne room. Long wait Preferably wear trainers as it is very rocky terrain, not suitable for people who have walking difficulties. Visit to centre afterwards

The tour guide had fantastic knowledge and was very engaging with the presentation of information. I tour of Knossos Palace was very busy (as we were expecting). I thought the hand held tablets were a bit too much trouble to use. More of a gimmick than something that really enhanced the experience. Getting a combined included Heraklion Archaeological Museum. The tour part in Heraklion is best used to explore the city as we were able to visit the museum the next day so we could spend more time.

The resort was excellent and it was beautifully maintained. The gardens were so well kept and interesting plants and trees. All areas, paths, pool surrounds, bars and restaurants were constantly kept clean. Tables and bar areas cleared as soon as someone left so you were always in a pristine area. All staff, at all levels, always had smiles and no one ever said no. They always tried to find a solution. This made our holiday. Great resort and great staff.

The guide was first class as was the transport. We decided to take a toddler in a pushchair which we just about managed but it was difficult. Access for less than full mobility is a challenge but just possible. For the tour as booked we would still recommend it. The archeological remains are very impressive and Heraklion town is certainly worth visiting. The tickets include access to the museum which contains the original finds from Knossos which are all fascinating in their own right.Very Hot

It was very interesting. Knossos was very busy as there were about 4 cruise groups going round at the same time so we felt hemmed in and decided to just explore by ourselves. The tablet was cumbersome with the screen shade and mine kept falling off. I don't think it adds anything and wish I'd not had one. My earpiece kept falling off too but as we went off on our own that didn't matter so much. Enjoyed the museum and looking aroun Heraklion. Guide was very pleasant and we felt safe with driver.

Maria, our guide was fabulous. She took time to answer questions and explained everything clearly. This trip could be improved with a better driver. I was nervous sitting in a front passenger seat as I could see him answering his telephone when driving. I do not know the rules of the road in Greece, nor do I know if the calls were emergencies (the telephone conversations were all Greek to me!), but I would like you to encourage the driver to take more care to concentrate on the road.

Pick up points on booking need to be clearer. Great time at the Palace. Maria is very knowledgeable and it was well organised. Make sure you grab a drink before you enter the Palace. Fascinating history. Then went into heraklion. Lovely city, recommend short walk to harbour. Visits to a couple of churches and beautiful fountains. Plenty of shops too. Nice surprise that entry to museum is included in ticket. Recommend an hour there. Overall great trip, thoroughly recommend it.

The Agapi Beach Resort was the best Resort we have ever stayed at. Sandy beach, 4 pools, food was above expectation and service absolutely fantastic and always with a smile. My husband had a fall and we were given the services on the Resort Doctor, when we left our transfer was late in the day and we were offered a changing room and shower. Amazing. Tui - fantastic help - you have upped your game.

We had thought about making our own way to Knossos, but were unsure of how to do so. We booked this tour and were so pleased that we did. The guide gave us so much more information about the palace and the history, that we wouldn't have got from just wandering around and reading the placards. The guide Maria was very knowledgeable and made the Knossoss visit very interesting even for those people who did not have as much interest in the history or mythology of the site. I understand Knossos is a valuable site from an archaeological point of view , but from a personal view not very interesting to look at . The guide was very knowledgeable and I found myself listening to her rather than paying much time looking at the rubble around me. The main concern was the travel time. The experience was advertised as 4-8 hours. However our hotel The Blu Palace was the furthest away from Heraklion. Due to pick ups from further hotels the journey ( normally 1 hour) took two hours so our whole day was almost 10 hours. I think that we should have been pre- warned that the coach journey would take so long.

Thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. Dimitra was our guide and she was super knowledgeable about the Palace of Knossos and other archeological sites in Crete. She was a fountain of information and it was great to be able to absorb some of her knowledge. She really brought the stories of the Minoans to life. My only criticism of the excursion would be to have a bit more time to look at the Palace by ourselves, but I understand that it’s a busy day with lots of hotel pick ups etc.

The experience was nice, our Guide was knowledgeable and our driver has some good skills driving in tight spaces. The palace was packed so definitely bring something to hydrate, protect you from sun (hats, brolly and sunscreen) please wear appropriate footwear. The museum is quite massive but if it's not up to your ally the Iraklio is quite nice to wander around, be careful tho as there's some kids who will put wreath on your head and expect you to pay for them

Went on the Knossos Palace & Heraklion Guided Tour trip on the 13 Sepetember. The tour guide, Fay, was excepional, full of facts, anecdotes and knowledge of the history of the Greek legends, the Minoan & Mycenian civilisations and of the culture of Crete that made the trip all the more interesting and immersive. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone with an interest in the history and culture of Crete.

Sorry I can’t remember our TUI Guide’s name. She was excellent throughout and her knowledge of Knossos Palace was outstanding. I would highly recommend visiting the Knossos Palace as part of this tour rather than independently as you avoid the huge queues to get in plus the Guide really makes all the difference with their knowledge and stories.

Trip got off to a bad start as had to wait for 20 mins at 1 hotel for people to get on as not at meeting point,we then had to go back to same hotel after a couple more pickups as 2 guests turned up so late we had left them behind this gave us less time in Knossos itself. Knossos is great but you don't get much time and if its busy don't expect to see much. The headsets are a great idea but most of the time they just picked up feedback from everyone else using them as well which was a shame as our guide was really knowledgeable when we could here her. The museum in Heraklion is excellent and well worth a visit but UK kids needs to buy tickets (adults have combined tickets) which can take along time to sort when it's busy.

Positives were the palace itself and then the museum afterwards, mind blowing stuff. Our guide Maria was also really great, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I think that this tour should have included lunch, it's not that much cheaper than the Spinalonga tour which included lunch with a much longer bus journey and a boat trip. Also it was a kick in the teeth that adults got a dual ticket to the palace and museum whereas children needed to pay again at the museum. This is quite frustrating.

Although it's obviously nice to be collected from your hotel, it is a drag when the first and last hour of the day is essentially devoted to picking up and dropping off, surely some of the guests could walk to a central collection point We enjoyed Knossos, but felt that it was just too busy, perhaps they should limit the numbers of visitors at times

The Palace of knossos itself is incredible and we really enjoyed the time we spent in heraklion (we had 3 hours in heraklion and could easily have spent 4 or 5 there). The guide we had was friendly and knowledgeable and I would really rate her. The reason for the low scores on some areas is that we spent a total of 5 and a half hours on the coach. It took 2 and a half hours to get from our hotel to knossos which we weren't expecting and we had to leave so early we couldn't get breakfast.

We had been to Knossos before but our guide Poppi (Casioppi) was outstanding; the trip was well paced starting early to avoid the heat and the queue for the throne room, and I have genuinely never met such a brilliant guide. Every aspect of Minoan culture and Cretan history was just some of her knowledge. Enough time as well to go to Heraklion and the Archaeological Museum there, included in the price. The headsets worked well and an extra 3 D viewer to take round was innovative. Excellent.

The tour said it included a 'guided walking tour' of Heraklion - this was great, but only around 15 minutes which was a shame as I'm sure there was such more the see. The archaeological museum was amazing. We were picked up on time but the guide didn't join us until around 2 and a half hours later after all the pick-ups, so we didn't know what was going on/how long the journey was going to be etc.

The guide was lovely, very helpful and informative but the process of getting tickets was chaotic and wasted a lot of time. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this trip for chidren as there was a lot of standing around and listening in the heat and they got a bit bored but the virtual tour was fun and it was perfect for adults as the guide was an absolute wealth of knowledge. One pair found they were on the wrong tour but were allowed to remain which was good. Transfers were good.

The tour guide went into too much depth especially Greek myths which took away the real story of the Minoans, it was history overload after a while so you ended up switching off. She could have left us time between areas just to look and take it in. She wasn’t very clearly spoken even when someone said they couldn’t hear her very well.

There were no clear instructions where the coach would pick us up. We were in reception of the hotel and it arrived at the back of the hotel. No one bothered to contact reception to find us. At our second attempt the coach was 30 minutes late and it was then 35degrees at Knossos. The trip needs to start a lot earlier to avoid the heat. The remainder of the day was very good as was our guide.

Great day out, our guide, Veta was amazing! Knossos Palace was interesting to see among the mountains. When you have your free time in Heraklion, walk down to the harbour to see the fortifications, it’s a must see.

I enjoyed the guided tour around Knossos. Would have liked guide around museum but understood that this was not possible due to covid restrictions. Guide knowledge excellent and interesting. Didn't like short wait on bus for return. It was hot and stuffy made worse by mask wearing. Overall a good day out.

Guide was very knowledgeable about our visit, loved the radio earpieces and tablet aid while at the palace. But miss an actual TUI rep visiting or resident in our hotel, no one to ask advice for any little local thing. Trips, markets, buses etc. Still waiting for confirmation on our last trip that got cancelled, to whether it still go ahead. You must inform the guide on the bus about online/app bookings as she seemed bewildered by us not having a ticket or voucher (physically)but just okayed it when we boarded.

Great to visit Knossos and the guide is very friendly and knowledgeable (Maria). Audio headsets make it easy to hear her. Pick up from Elounda on time but due to number of hotel pickups took 2 and a half hours to get there (and back). Spent around 2 hours in Knossos then on to Heraklion - guided tour was just a 5 minute walk to centre, and then left to own devices for 3 hours. Entry to Knossos said €20 on ticket so not sure it is worth the £60 ticket price if you are staying nearer to Heraklion. You do, however get entry to the Heraklion museum with your Knossos ticket which is worth a look.

Family friendly. Close traditional experience of Greece. Plenty of cuisine and drink chooses, music events and beach nearby. Plenty of Greek mythology trips easily available.

The facilities were great and the service was excellent throughout, from admin and booking to resort staff and trip guides. One of our party is coeliac and the resort arranged to meet with the head chef to discuss a specific menu, which no-one has ever done before. While incredibly considerate of allergies, and with a broad buffet and various bookable restaurants, the food in general was sadly a little bland. It felt as though it was catering to the stereotype of an English palette as opposed to local flavours. The trip to Knossos and Heraklion was great and the guide very friendly and knowledgable. It could've allowed a little more time so as to enjoy the museum and city in a bit more depth, or maybe even there could be a Heraklion shuttle offered a day a week? All in all though, an enjoyable experience.

The excursion itself and the guide were excellent, but it was a 10 hour trip for us as we were first on in Elounda and last off, making it a long day by the time we had picked up and dropped off at all the other hotels. Maybe using feeder mini buses from the distant hotels would help.

Amazing to see how people lived thousands of years ago even older than the pyramids in Eygipt.
Well set out and with the visit to the museum it made it |make more sense.
Just take sunblock and plenty of water.

An excellent trip. An amazing venue, our guide, Elizabeth ..Vita for short was exceptional with her clarity, humour and personality..headsets and ipads loaned for the trip very useful.
...palace ticket is valid for 3 days for the heraklion architectural museum too. Bus was 25 mins late on pickup

Excellent day trip. Very informative and the guide has excellent knowledge of Knossos and Heraklion. We didn’t really have time to go into museum as wanted to shop in Heraklion so we revisited Heraklion for the museum two days later. The ticket was still valid which was great. Excellent trip.

All the staff at the elounda breeze were fantastic, both the tui reps and entertainers and the hotel staff. We were very well cared for and the facilities were fabulous. The food was wonderful, the entertainment was excellent and we were made to feel special at every point of the holiday.

Tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. I would say though that the details are misleading. When we arrived at the museum (having been told our admission was a joint ticket with the Knossus site) we were told the child tickets were not valid and had to pay an extra 6 euros for each child.

No one’s fault but people do need to be aware that Knossos is so very busy with tour parties that it’s a bit of a cattle market and you get very little time to really see it.
Heraklion tour fine but brief - and everyone just wanted lunch.

Although there is not much shade in Knossos and we were there during a heat wave. My children were so interested that they didn't complain. The guide was really informative and interesting and the site is wonderful. We also enjoyed seeing the real frescoes in the museum later.
