Sehr stark Wetter abhängig. Leider waren sehr viele Wolken und kaum Sterne zu sehen. Essen war sehr lecker und gut, war nur leider der Hauptprogrammpunkt. Wäre schön wenn es mehr um die Sterne gegangen wäre. Die Guides waren sehr bemüht und es hat viel Spaß mit ihnen gemacht.

The two tour guides helping with the star gazing were amazing, very knowledgable on the night sky and constellations. We had some cloud cover which made it difficult at times and they were very good at telling us when was best to come and view. The food was basic but a good variety, not sure it catered for all dietary requirements though so best to check.

The guides were incredible funny and knowledgeable. The food was really tasty. The telescopes were awesome and I got some fabulous photos to keep as moments. Star gazing on a blanket in the desert was such a unique experience. Really recommend this experience

The staff were very knowledgable and seemed to thoroughly enjoy their job. A shame there wasn't more constellations but totally out of anyone's control. Laying on blankets in the night, in the middle of nowhere, is a unique/special experience.

Sehr gute Betreuung während des Ausflugs in die Wüste. Leider war es überwiegend bewölkt, so dass wir die Sterne nur sehr eingeschränkt beobachten konnten. Das Wüsten-Restaurant hat eine nett gestaltete landestypische Ausstattung, das Buffett war einfach doch lecker.

It was a fantastic evening, the guides were brilliant, helping us take photos through telescopes and were very informative about the stars and planets, and it felt the explanations were good for both novices and people who already knew a bit about the science. We got to lie down in the desert and look at the stars which was brilliant. The only thing that would make it a 10 out of 10 for us would be a couple more telescopes to make the numbers of people per telescope smaller!

Was not keen on the food and there wasn’t much choice given we could only have veg or fish. Most of the evening involved eating and less actually star gazing. Clouds restricted this also that night. The bus was also a very rough ride there and back. Wasn’t a four by four which is what I expected. Definitely not worth the money.

Gids vertelde gepassioneerd. Eten was ook goed. En dat was het positieve. Het was veel te massaal! Alleen 2 planeten gezien, verder niet echt dingen aangewezen. Duurde ook veel te lang. Het leek meer op een uitetentje ipv de wonderen te zien. Er was live muziek, een man speelde op een keyboard en zong in het Frans. Als wij niet klapten na een liedje was hij gepikeerd. Lijkt me logischer dat hij er voor ons was en wij niet voor hem!

Scam don’t waste ya time and money just take some food from the hotel restaurant and lay on the beach at night and just look up at the sky save yourself £60 each ps the foo on this trip is disturbing I wouldn’t feed a stray donkey it would be a animal Welfare crime to do so

Thoroughly enjoyable evening and not like any other experience I have had before. Even got to see Jupiter and its moons through the telescope. The atmosphere and food were authentic to Cape Verde as was the music and we loved it.

Star gazing was interesting and quite well presented. The dinner part of the evening was the low point. We sat for almost 75 minutes, with only a drink, not even a bread roll. When the food finally arrived it was tepid and some meat was already dry and didn't appear freshly cooked. There seemed to an emphasis on selling drinks rather than ensuring an enjoyable evening.

Een leuke avond gehad. We hadden alleen de pech dat het wat bewolkt was en dus niet veel sterren hebben gezien. Gelukkig konden we met de telescopen wel Jupiter van dichtbij aanschouwen Het eten was lekker en de sfeer was goed. De man, die over her sterrenstelsel en de planeten vertelde vond zichzelf erg grappig. Dat was het enige minpuntje.

Gezellige lokatie waar de informatie vooraf werd gegeven met gezellige muziek en lekker eten. Tussendoor naar buiten waar twee telescopen klaarstonden en verteld werd waar je naar keek. Deze gidsen helpen je ook met het maken van een foto van het beeld in de telescoop. Daarna een stukje de woestijn in en daar verdere uitleg over de zichtbare sterren en planeten. Wij hebben een topavond gehad met een vrij heldere sterrenhemel!

The trip started ok but after the welcome drink, it went downhill for a bit. It was a pity. The staff were great but the buffet dinner was free for all, which resulted in the food being stone cold. Then it improved. The desert trek and the guide were fantastic, we all enjoyed watching and learning about the night sky, unfortunately the weather was against them. The guide was funny and informative. All in all a good experience apart from the buffet.

We wisten niet goed wat we ervan konden verwachten maar het heeft alles overtroffen. Het vervoer naar de activiteit toe, het diner en de sfeer, de kennis en ervaring van de staff en de totale ervaring was geweldig. Er werd met veel energie, humor en liefde voor de natuur en het sterrenstelsel verteld. De complimenten aan het gehele team en met name 'Mr. Smile' die onze avond echt heeft gemaakt.

It was a memorable outing and seeing Jupiter through a telescope, and the desert by moonlight, were experiences I will remember for a long time. I have given it 8/10 purely because I didn’t like the food in the restaurant that much - I’m not keen on grilled fish and don’t like chicken on the bone. So, that part of the experience wasn’t really for me. But the service was excellent and the guides were knowledgeable and entertaining to listen too. Overall, I couldn’t fault the service.

Es war sehr schön, die Sterne in deutsch gezeigt und erklärt zu bekommen. Dass wir mit der Decke bewaffnet uns auf den Sand legen konnten und mit dem Laserstrahl die wertvollen Informationen erhielten, hat besonders Spaß gemacht. Die musikalische Begleitung am Abend war sehr schön. Alles in allem ein gelungener Ausflug. Essen war auch schmackhaft.

The whole evening was fantastic, the staff very warm and friendly making the whole experience memorable. The food was fresh and tasty. Wir hatten den Ausflug in deutsch gebucht, leider haben wir die Erläuterungen über den herrlichen Sternenhimmel 45 Min. auf Englisch hören müssen.Vorher hatten wir den Ausflug: Südliches Boa Vista mit Beccy, die ausgezeichnet und lustig alles erklärt hat. Beim Sandboarding waren wir in genau dem selben Restaurant, wie abends im Dessert Delight. Tagsüber sieht man die Schluchten um das Restaurant und in Wärme ist es sehr nett dort. Beim Abendausflug war es sehr kalt und windig, wir hätten dieses

Am Anfang war es total bewölkt und wir fragten uns, warum der Ausflug nicht wie versprochen abgesagt wurde. Danach hat es aber noch aufgetan und es war ein super tolles Erlebnis. Das Essen ausgezeichnet, die Crew extrem kompetent und bemüht. Wir haben es genossen. Die Erwartungen wurden ziemlich erfüllt. Einziges Minus: es war ein 5dl Softgetränk (2.50 €) oder ein Glas Wein inbegriffen. Wir wollten Wasser ohne Kohlensäure und haben nur 2dl (1,5 Liter/3€) gekriegt. Danach mussten wir bezahlen.

Star college was very knowledgeable and all staff were very helpful and friendly. Being in our sixty we didn't do the laying down on sand as it would have been hrad work getting up again but the staff looked after us very well . Would recommend sand chairs for people like us that would have liked the chance to see the star's with the rest of group .

Booked this trip through the First Choice app got the voucher with pick up time stated as 645pm , so we headed down for 645, waited until 730 no pick up arrived, i called customer service was promised a call back this never happenned. I went and spoke to the Tui rep in the hotel who advised we should have been there 10 to 15mins early, this instruction is not stated on the voucher i received I am still waiting for a responce regarding the refund 24hrs later. Very dissapointed!

De locatie is teleurstellend, het is geen “woestijn” het is een zandvlakte van 10 meter, er staan 2 telescopen voor 50 mensen, daarbij is het eten zeer beperkt en teleurstellend, het gaat ook meer om het eten en extra drankjes verkopen dan om de sterren. Je zit 2 uur in een blokhut met beperkte keuze uit eten, zeker voor kinderen is er niks. Om vervolgens 10 minuten naar sterren te kunnen kijken. En dan ben je nog een uur kwijt aan reizen heen en terug ook. Ik zou dit nooit aanraden.

Tsja, via een geautomatiseerd systeem wordt er een review gevraagd over een excursie die niet door is gegaan, en ook niet geannuleerd werd waardoor we vergeefs hebben staan wachten en het oudjaarsdiner hebben moeten missen. En dat is al de tweede Tui excursie deze week die niet doorging. Dus mijn advies: boek je excursies elders!

Sternen-Bilder wurden ausführlich erklärt. Teilnehmer durften Fotos vom Mond über das Teleskop machen.Das Essen gab es als Buffet. Essen war gut und reichlich . Es wurde in allen Sprachen erklärt. ( Deutsch,Englisch, Französisch,Spanisch, Italienische,Holländisch ....) Es wurde auf alle Gäste eingegangen. Diese Tour ist sehr zu Empfehlen!!!

It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff certainly knew their astronomy and through their knowledge & equipment were able to see Jupiter and 3 of its moons and Saturn through their telescopes. Unfortunately, as there was a half moon, it was too bright to see the Milky Way as we had hoped but that was the only downside to the evening. The food and service in the restaurant was superb.

This was a complete rip off. We were told by the TUI guide that the experience would be cancelled if it was too cloudy, yet despite extremely cloudy conditions, it went ahead. There was absolutely nothing to see - not even the stars or the moon, which were heavily advertised. The food was disgusting and nowhere near worth the amount of money paid. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. Easily one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had

Good experience but not worth £61 each. Food was good, as wre the guys with telescope with limited cloud view, but overall overpriced for what it was by quite along way. Journey was 35 mins each way, to reach and area with no light pollution, which was not the case. Atleast we got out of the hotel

Food was poor, little choice if you didn't like the meat or fish option. My husband had rice and beans and potato for his meal more vegetables could be offered and on top of this the food was Luke warm. Enjoyed the talk on the stars unfortunately it was cloudy.

Trotz bedecktem Himmel an den Abenden zuvor und den Tag über fand der Ausflug statt, mit dem Ergebnis, dass wir vor dem Essen minimal Sicht hatten, nach dem Essen aber der Himmel komplett zugezogen wsr, wir in den paar Minuten in der Wüste zwar viel erzählt bekamen, aber nicht einen Stern und selbst den Mond, der fast voll war nur ab und zu gesehen haben. Der Ausflug hätte abgesagt gehört, so war es leider Verarsche, zumal wir vorher extra gefragt haben, ob bei schlechter Sucht abgesagt wird.

Op 28/11 heb ik via TUI deelgenomen aan de excursie “sterrenkijken”. Helaas viel de ervaring aanzienlijk tegen doordat er tijdens de gehele activiteit veel bewolking was, waardoor sterrenkijken vrijwel onmogelijk bleek. Ik begrijp dat weersomstandigheden niet te beïnvloeden zijn. Tegelijkertijd is het doel van deze excursie volledig afhankelijk van goed zicht. In dit geval was de activiteit niet zoals omschreven en kon de kern van de excursie niet worden aangeboden.

Ein toller Abend in schöner Location in der Wüste mit freundlichen Service. Die Erklärungen zu den Sternbildern Galaxien etc. waren toll, sowie die Teleskope und ein Highlight war der kurze Spaziergang in die Wüste und das Liegen auf Decken mit Blick in die Sterne. Wichtig: auch vor und zwischen dem Essen sollte man es nicht verpassen, draußen die Sterne durch die Teleskope zu beobachten.

The trip itself was pretty good apart from the food which gave my wife an upset stomach we believe but are not sure ..one thing we are sure of is the poor driving by the driver Ronaldo ...im sure you need to slow down a 9 ton bus at roundabouts , being a mechanic and a truck driver myself in the if i had seen his driving on our roads i would immediately have reported the vehicle being driven erratic to the authorities, also at the end of the trip at the hotel one chap got off quick to be sick

It needs to be clearly explained that it is quite a walk down the dunes, and it is an uphill walk back. There are no lights and there is also no provision for people who are unable to get up and down off the floor/ ground. There are also narrow and a high step to get into the restaurant. My partner walks with a stick as she had a stroke, but also the bus steps were too high and she struggled. All this needs to be made clear at booking. Maybe check on people

A unique & breath-taking experience! The shooting stars were awesome! A nice package. Pros: Fatou & Lamin were knowledgeable and brought humour to the learning experience. The food was delicious! Sandy et al were great hosts. The local rum sample was a nice surprise. Folk musician was a nice touch. Cons: Uncomfortable, rough journey to & from the site. Vehicle felt unsafe. Driver appeared unwell. We were concerned about him. Warning: May experience spacial disorientation (and eye strain).

Asking about our experience, it started and ended poorly as our driver was very rude from pick up to drop off and drove dangerously through the dirt track roads. The guides at the desert were very good, helpful and informative. Just wish it wasn’t another buffet service with the food. Overall we were happy.

Der Ausflug war gut organisiert, es gab auch eine deutsche Hobbyastrologin, die viel erklären konnte. Alle haben sich viel Mühe gegeben. Schön wäre es gewesen, wenn der Busfahrer auch ein paar Worte an uns gerichtet hätte. Wir wurden abgeholt und ohne Kommentar in die Dunkelheit gefahren! Für einen Halbtagesausflug ist der Preis aber zu hoch!

This was a brilliant night out! Unfortunately for us we did go when it was cloudy, but we still saw so much- beautiful stars and Saturn! The staff were so informative, welcoming and accommodating. You walk out to the desert further, where you can relax, laying up staring at the stars. Only one word could describe this… BEAUTIFUL.

This was the highlight of the trip! Could have stayed all night! Beautiful prepared local meal with entertainment. Then seeing the night sky through the telescopes with knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides - breathtaking. Then… there was more… a short stroll (in the pitch dark) to lie down in the sand, on blankets provided, to star gaze. Shooting stars, satellites and millions of starts. Again we were guided through what we could see , with ancient and modern theories. Amazing!

Despite a relatively cloudy night we managed to get an amazing photo of the moon through the telescope. The food was nice and the price of the cocktails were reasonable as well being cheaper than the UK at around 9€ each with good quality whilst the usual type still amazing and the guide was extremely good and funny

Ontzettend leuke excursie! Na de rit in een oud busje (incl ‘massage’) kreeg je een welkomstdrankje met live muziek, en voor het diner mocht je al even door de telescopen kijken naar de maan en zichtbare planeten. Na het onwijs lekkere diner met lokale gerechten ging je met de groep op pad (2 minuten wandelen) en kon je op je kleedje plaatsnemen. Tijdens de gehele trip was er onwijs leuke begeleiding (versch talen), ze vertelden heel veel leuke, interessante en grappige dingen! Top excursie!

Raad deze trip niet aan. Het was uiteindelijk enkel een diner en met de telescoop een stuk van de maan zien. Ons was vertelt dat wanneer het bewolkt zou zijn de trip niet door zou gaan en er een ander moment gepland zou worden zodat de gasten genoeg zouden zien. Dat was dus niet het geval. Het eten was prima, maar niet bijzonder. Een hoop geld voor wat je er daadwerkelijk voor terug krijgt. Ik zou een trip als deze persoonlijk eerder doen in Nederland, dan weet je zeker dat het goed is geregeld.

The staff were all lovely. We'd be asked when we booked if we prefer chicken, fish or vegetarian - so as a veggie I thought there'd be a main dish but it was just the vegetable side dishes everyone had. It was tasty though and plenty. The stargazing was a let down. Too many people meant food took too long, couple of less mobile guests meant we couldn't go into desert further and didn't get to use the telescopes due to lack of time. We didn't get all we paid for. Very disappointing

Lovely little cute restaurant in the Vienna dessert, staff at the restaurant and the guides where very welcoming and first cocktail served and choice of another drink included. They cocktail list you could buy was great and fair priced. Was bit cloudy but we did get to see some stars and were low in the dessert blankets provided to lie and learn a bit about the stars we could see. Very informative and interesting

The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and welcoming. The food and drink were good. Sadly cloud prevented us seeing the night sky but the lady who spoke was very knowledgeable and engaging and we had an app which showed us everything she was telling us. Very enjoyable and atmospheric especially with the fire. Thankfully an air con bus was the mode of transport for this trip. Thoroughly recommend.

The bar was absolutely amazing as well as all the staff and the guids. My only complaint was that we didn't see any stars as it was so cloudy which I understand completely that no one can control the weather. However it then becomes very expensive for a small plate of food and 1 drink. I feel that if the weather is such there should be some kind of compensation? We didn't even get an extra drink. Apart from that it was a lovely night and I would love to go again on a clear night

Genuinely welcomed by the staff to their premises. Clean and comfortable dining area and bar. Drinks were reasonably priced. Food was excellent. Stargazing with telescopes before dinner led by a knowledgeable expert then afterwards a short walk in the dark across the sand (for some this may be difficult due to uneven surface and nature of sand) to a secluded spot to escape light pollution to be amazed at the number of stars visible. Note: cloud cover dependant.

Enjoyed going off the beaten track. The forecast was cloudy two days before this trip, still forecasted cloudy the morning of the trip, cloudy when we set off, only caught fleeting glimpses of the moon, no stars - pointless calling it a stargazing excursion. Should have offered us money back or an alternate day, c!early about earning money over customer experience. Not recommended, customer needs to check cloud cover forecast! Disappointed. Exploited.

Was hoping to be able to see another planet or 2 through the telescope but only got to look at the moon. However, when I'm the desert I've never seen as many stars in my life. Even the plough which I see had home, I've never been able to see all the surrounding stars due to light pollution. Dinner was decent and staff excellent. Good night out.

Wow. Just wow!! Picked up at our hotel, taken to the desert via bumpy roads and off road. Lots of goats and donkeys to see on the way. Greeted with a welcome drink which was a juice, then food which was Cape Verdean and absolutely delicious. You get one drink included but other drinks are very reasonably priced, contactless payment available. Then out to the desert on blankets, guide extremely knowledgeable. Then a shot of grog to finish! All we can say is DO THIS EXCURSION! You won't regret it!

Die Veranstaltung hat mit den Sternen überhaupt nichts zu tun. Es gab leckere Speisen und die Leute sind wirklich sehr nett und bemüht. Aber bitte benennen Sie die Veranstaltung um. In der „Wüste“ ist man höchstens zehn Minuten und es wird einem gar nichts gezeigt oder erklärt. Nach dem Vortrag geht man wieder ins Restaurant und dann ab in den Bus. Wir fanden es wirklich sehr nett, aber mit astronomischen Erklärungen hat diese Veranstaltung überhaupt nichts zu tun.

Excursie werd anders voorgesteld dan ze effectief was. We boekten de excursie om sterren te kijken in de woestijn met diner als extraatje, maar dit bleek eerder een diner in een klein restaurant aan de woestijn te zijn met weinig “stargazing”. Na 10 minuten in de woestijn moesten we alweer terug. Eten was lekker en sfeer was goed, maar dit was een andere excursie dan wij hadden geboekt. En 70 eur per persoon was veel te duur voor in principe enkel een diner in een restaurant.

We konden genieten van een prachtig zicht van de maan door de telescopen. Dit was het enige leuke aan de uitstap. De gids die ons over de sterren ging vertellen wist met moeite oost en west te onderscheiden. Ook de rotatie van de aarde wist ze niet meer. Wat ze ons dan vertelde dat wel klopte was hetgeen men in België in de lagere school ook leert. Uiteindelijk hebben we 10min op een dekentje gelegen en naar de sterren gekeken. Ook de kinderanimatie die in de beschrijving staat was er niet.

Eerder op de dag contact opgenomen met Tui met vraag of excursie wel doorging gelet zware bewolking. Antwoord excursie gaat sowieso door. Uiteindelijk evenveel sterren gezien als thuis, uiteraard door de bewolking. Maw 132 euro voor 2 cola's en een koude saté. Als het weer het niet toelaat annuleer de excursie dan of stel ze op zijn minst uit. Nu heeft het meer weg van een tourist trap. Stonden trouwens niet alleen met dat gevoel. The experience over all of absolutely fantastic. My only criticism is nothing to do with the experience it's self but rather TUI's description. By this I mean that on all of the excursion information it doesn't mention anywhere about the experience been suitable for anyone with mobility issues or indeed any disabilities of any kind. This is something that TUI really need to sort out as it's extremely misleading.

It wasn’t what we expected, it was extremely disappointing! The staff and buffet food was very good. We had a very bright almost full moon. We didn’t need the telescope to see the moon. There were very few stars visible. We walked in to the desert for a few minutes, it was way too bright to see the stars. The man talking had great information but due to taking and walking in a circle we only heard part of the talk. Very overpriced experience. It should not be that much money when full moon!

Ten eerste is de prijs/ kwaliteit veel te hoog . Het eten was goed , maar niet speciaal ..erg opdringerig met de drankjes , die goed aan de prijs waren . Geen ster gezien , aangezien het bewolkt was. Misschien is het een idee de excursie uit te stellen als het helemaal bewolkt is. Het was erg commercieel, maar wij zijn er weer ingetuind. Prijs is veel te hoog .. woestijn is een lachertje.. ergens een donkere plek , net buiten het dorp .. met de bus over verharde wegen, overal verkeersborden ..

Nicht in der Wüste ohne Lichtstörungen. Das ist schlicht und frecherweise unwahr. Das Essen war sehr einfach. Die Teleskope machten weiße Punkte zu etwas größeren weißen Punkten. Das Beste war der deutsch sprechende Erklärer. Der Musiker und Service war nett. Am Rande einer Wüste ein paar KM entfernt vom Hotel. Ein Preis von 35 bis max. 40 Euro wäre angemessen gewesen. 65 eindeutig zuviel. Für den Preis haben wir eine 9stündige Tour mit Einkehr in ein Strandlokal bekommen. Kein Vergleich

Also ich kann und möchte hier unsere Erfahrung berichten. Der Ausflug hatte höchstens 1/3 mit Sternenaussicht zu tun.Es war mehr ein Abendessen das auch noch für Alle Teilnehmer ziemlich knapp bemessen war den die letzten in der Schlange am Buffet bekamen fast gar nichts mehr , beide Gänge und beim Abschluß gabe auch noch zu wenige Gäser. Es war auch nicht Dunkel, Lichter waren in der Umgebung zu sehen , und nicht in einer Wüste. Die Beschreibung weicht ganz klar vom Soll zum Ist ab.

This is the second time that we have been tk this experience and we have not been disappointed at either. The pick up was on time, the driver was polite and courteous. The road was a bit bumpy but to be expected and the journey was accomplished safely. Once at the restaurant, introductions were made by the staff and an explanation was given to all. Once we had been outside to look through the telescopes, shame about the clouds, the food was served and it was as excellent as it was last year.

MOBILTY warning at time of booking!! We purchased this for our 80yo mobiility challanaged FIL, and was told nowhere that access was an issue. From the coach, there was walking across sand dunes and other obstacles not advertised/explained which made their experience disappointing. The experience was excellent, with lovely guides and lovely food.

Het eten in het restaurant was super leuk!! Daar hebben we echt van genoten, heel leuk personeel het eten was goed en de live gitarist was erg leuk! Het sterrenkijken viel echter tegen, voordat we vertrokken hadden we al gecheckt of het wel door ging als het zo bewolkt was, maar we gingen en hebben amper sterren gezien. De informatie die ze gaven was ook niet altijd correct (ik heb zelf sterrenkunde gestudeerd en de guide zat er erg vaak naast)

Romantisch en leerzaam. Het eten met de plaatselijke gerechten was erg lekker en de sterren uitleg was uitgebreid en leerzaam met gezellige live muziek. Enige verbeterpuntje, er waren niet genoeg dekens voor 2 per stel, waardoor sommigen, inclusief wij, een kleine deken moesten delen en niet echt lekker konden liggen/genieten in de Sahara. Tevens was de tweede deken handig geweest om ons warmer te houden. Verder uitstekend verzorgd en 9.5/10 sterren.

Wir können Englisch. Die Tour war zu wählen auf deutsch oder englisch. Wir wählten deutsch, aber nicht einer(!) der Guides konnte es. Wir raten allen ab, ohne gutes Englisch zu buchen. Eigentlich war es schön, das Essen aber lauwarm, Schulnote 3- in Deutschland. Die "Astronomen" von TUI waren Hobby-Leute, die zwar einiges wussten, aber alle das Gleiche erzählt haben. Alle waren bemüht und nett, aber that's it.

Service was zeer goed Was met mijn moeder van 82 die loopt met rollator. Werdt aan alle kanten geholpen en begeleid. Was fijn dat er ook Nederlandse gids Was. Uitleg was heel goed en interessant. Veel opgestoken. Wat minder was was dat het lang duurde voor het eten kwam. Alles liep een beetje door elkaar heen. Ik zou bij aankomst eerst de maaltijd doen en dan het buitengedeelte met alle uitleg en het sterren/planeten kijken.

Guides haben sich große Mühe gegeben, uns trotz einiger Wolken interessantes Wissen über die Sterne und Planeten zu vermitteln. Schön war, dass wir nur eine kleine 5köpfige deutsche Gruppe waren. Ein tolles Erlebnis, auf einer Decke im Wüstensand zu liegen, entspannt den Himmel zu beobachten und den Erklärungen der Guides zu lauschen, unterstützt mit Laserpointern. Vorher konnten wir mit Teleskopen die sichtbaren Planeten betrachten. Das servierte landestypische Essen war eine gute Abwechslung.

Het vervoer er naar toe was goed, het eten was eenvoudig maar erg lekker, het telescoop team had heel veel kennis en gaf duidelijk uitleg. Op dekens door hun verstrekt naar de sterren en planeten liggen kijken. Het was een top avond. Je warm aankleden is aan te bevelen.

The big downside was about accessibility. Nowhere was it mentioned that this tour is only advised for the able bodied. One of our party can only walk with a mobility aid, therefore we were shocked to discover that after alighting the bus there was a 50 metre walk to the restaurant through deep After walking there and back, the person with the mobility aid barely made and was left distressed and in pain for days afterwards.

Voor en hoofdgerecht (buffet) was prima, niet bijzonder. Toetjes echter waren super! Goed verschillende planeten kunnen zien. Met name Jupiter en zijn 4 grootste manen was heel fraai. En natuurlijk de (volle) maan. Mooie foto’s door de telescoop gemaakt. Daarna op dekentje in de woestijn met uitleg. Leuk gedaan.

Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt in keinster Weise. Das Servicepersonal war zwar freundlich und sehr bemüht - dennoch steht nicht das Essen im Vordergrund, sondern eigentlich das Sterne schauen und das kam viel zu kurz. Wir sind mit drei Personen gereist und würden diese Fahrt nicht weiterempfehlen

It was a very cloudy evening, and they really should have rescheduled the evening as there were no stars to see. Very disappointed, as it was a perfect spot for star-gazing and their sand dune hollow where we lay on rugs was just perfect. Extremely knowledgeable guides, and very friendly and willing to make the evening a success for us.

Really enjoyed the evening the good was good with a good service and bar was well stocked with branded drinks. The staff with the telescopes were really knowledgeable and we saw Saturn with its rings, some moons of Jupiter and Uranus. We had a clear night and the staff showed us all the different constellations. My tip would be bring a decent jumper or jacket and wear decent footwear for walking in the sand.

On arrival there was no information given about what was happening or the procedure. Eventually a guide waffled for a few minutes then took all the Germans out leaving the rest of us wondering what was going on. The last bit - lying on the sand was the best bit, but still we had been waffled to outside in the cold, Interesting but not the best tour

Es war wunderschön, den Vollmund und die Planeten durchs Teleskop zu betrachten. Die Guides hatten einige mehr, andere etwas weniger Wissen über Planeten,etc. Super dass es in verschiedenen Sprachen gleichzeitig gemacht wurde. Einziger Wehtmutstropfen; ich hatte kalt, da ich nicht dachte dass wir fast 1h abends noch draussen in der Wüste standen uns auch noch etwas hinlegen sollten um eine Geschichte zu hören. Es hatte einige Decken...aber also unbedingt Frauen warm anziehen lassen!

Het concept is heel leuk, ondanks dat ze geen school hebben gehad over astronomie weten ze heel veel over het heelal en de sterren. Ze geven hele leuke informatie en de reisgidsen zijn heel aardig en grappig. Het eten was goed geregeld, wel hebben ik en m’n partner ons gestoord aan hebzuchtige gepensioneerden die bijna hun nek braken om bij het buffet te komen. Daarom lijkt mij een 2/3 gangen diner, met simpele gerechten mij een beter concept. Al met al, hebben wij een magische avond gehad, dank

It felt like we were left at the first stop for longer than necessary to pad the time out. The view into the desert was rather spoilt by lots of car track marks that looked like quad bikes had been racing around in circles, not the unspoilt desert I was expecting. The shipwreck was an interesting stop, but I was alarmed at the rubbish lying around. If Tui are genuinely concerned about the environment, offer guests (and guides) an optional bag to collect some rubbish in whilst walking around.

So the good and ambience where perfect so good to her a little flavour of local food and music was perfect ..the knowledge of the star gazers was outstanding and the only disappoint was how bright the Moon was but other then that truly phenomenal and I would do again hopefully when moon not full ..maybe something to think on plus warm clothing which is obvious but in holiday mode u forget

We really enjoyed this experience, the staff were funny and informative. We saw loads of stars, planets and shooting stars. Food was great and the live music was a good touch. The restaurant was really cute too, would definitely recommend.

kleine Gruppe, intimes Erlebnis. Getreu dem Motto "No Stress" startet der Abend gemütlich mit einem Drink. Während das Essen zubereitet wird kann man raus zu den Teleskopen gehen, wo einem die Guides helfen, bekannte Planeten und Sterne aus der Nähe zu betrachten. Nach dem Essen geht es noch in die Dünen komplett ohne Licht und man bekommt weitere Infos. Die Guides sind multilingual und haben in unserem Fall Englisch, deutsch, niederländisch, italienisch, spanisch und französisch gesprochen.

Obviously this trip is weather dependent. We were lucky. Had a little cloud but will not dampen this 'sparkling' review. Amazing evening. Venue is fab. Staff amazing. Food was really lovely. Three huge telescopes set up so you can wander in and out of the venue between courses. The young astronomers knew their stuff and with lasers and the telescopes answered all questions fired at them. Then a 2 minute trek into the desert to lie on blankets and just gaze at the wonderous night sky with coffee.

De tijd en genomen moeite alsmede de verschillende gesproken talen door de Staff om zaken te vertellen/uit te leggen van de sterrenkijkers was zeer goed. Het eten was lekker, de service goed. Een beetje jammer alleen dat bij de live muziek de zanger een beetje vals zong (leek het) en de jembe eigenlijk de gitaar en zang overstemde. Maar zeer zeker een leuke ervaring!

Lovely food in a beautiful location. A very relaxing & informative evening, the guys with the telescopes were great & even managed to take photos of the moon with our phones through to telescope. We even got a free shot of the local spirit "grog" before leaving. The only negative was the Tui driver, unfriendly, didn't say a word, even when we got there he just opened the doors to the minibus & we had to work out where to go etc. He clearly didn't want to be there! Overall a great evening.

The restaurant shack was nice but tbh if driving to the desert to avoid light pollution was the idea being next to the airport wasn't great! The best thing was the 2 guides and telescopes! But maybe do the stargazing somewhere dark as it was the evening highlight! Rui toureg hotel beach would be ideal for stargazing

We enjoyed looking at the stars and being shown with the laser light where the Seven Sisters are Taurus and Jupiter we have never been able to see these before the team were very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the traditional meal and the traditional music, a couple of days later we saw the Beaver moon which was pretty amazing.

Lots of the time was taken up by food which personally I didn't enjoy, but then I am a fussy eater. If you wanted to experience Cape Verde food and hospitality then this is for you, but the star gazing was a little limited. It felt as if we went a couple of minutes from the restaurant that wanted you to buy extra drinks, to share a blanket for 10 minutes being told about the stars etc. Don't get me wrong it was very informative and the guides were really friendly, but too much time on food!

Only issue was that the restaurant will only take Euros and not the local Escudos, we only had escudos with us so weren't able to buy any more drinks/waters after the first one that wad included. Otherwise, lovely food, music and very friendly staff.

When you go you’re only given one drink that’s supposed to last you 4 hours as there was no information to let you know you needed to bring cash for extra drinks! The guides were very knowledgeable and pointed out some great stats and planets! Make sure you wear sensible shoes as you walk along the sand from the desert which is cool! I think it could’ve been 2 hours not 4 in total! Depending on where you stay it can be a 35-40 minute journey ontop of the time you’re there.

Dit was de meest geweldige avond van onze vakantie op Kaapverdië. Als liefhebbers van de sterrenhemel, hadden we de perfecte avond. Geen bewolking, en een mooie sterren stand. De gids was grappig, goed geïnformeerd en enorm gastvrij. Het eten was met liefde gemaakt. Er zat één drankje inbegrepen in de prijs, maar je kon tegen betaling extra drankjes bestellen (pin of contant). Echter was het ene drankje voldoende, namelijk 0,5 liter flesje. Afsluitend kreeg je thee/koffie, en een borrel. 10/10!

This made for a fantastic evening, the food was even better than expected and the stargazing itself was a great experience. The guides/staff were very attentive and friendly as well as funny at times, making jokes but being serious around the stargazing when they needed to. Live music was also good and created a nice atmosphere at dinner and throughout. Can't really fault the evening apart from it being slightly cloudy at times which of course isn't TUI's fault and comes down to a bit of luck!

Absolutely loved this! Just be aware that if you’re expecting a 5* fine dining experience, you’re wrong. What you get however, is the most amazing Cape Verdean buffet, topped off with excellent Cape Verdean live music. The stargazing itself is truly worth it! Seeing the moon and Saturn up close and personal, then being led into the desert to stargaze and be given a very in depth talk about stars and planets was totally worth it. Highly recommended!

The 2-course buffet food was delicious. Live music during dinner is a lovely touch and creates a great atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and funny, and they kept checking on us to ensure we were happy and having a good time. They are really knowledgeable about the stars and telescopes etc. It's a once in a lifetime type of experience to lay in the desert staring at the stars. I would highly recommend it!

Was a great trip to the Viana desert. Music was playing while everyone had the buffet food which was really nice. Staff were outside with telescopes and you could ask questions. They pointed out star constellations with laser lights and homed in on Saturn on a telescope so you could see it. We then went into the dessert with blankets and star gazed for a while which was great. Then a local shot of grog before the bus came!

Only issue we had was arrival at the restaurant and the bombardment of mosquitoes. Appreciate this is hard to control but maybe this should be flagged as an issue on the brochure and/or the restaurant have netting up to protect guests. Several people on our trip left as it was so bad at one point.

Het sterrenkijken in de woestijn was echt een hele bijzondere ervaring! We hebben zelfs Jupiter door de telescoop gezien. Het is natuurlijk altijd afhankelijk van het weer of je veel kunt zien, maar de wolken blijven door de wind niet hangen, dus je hebt grote kans dat je over de gehele avond in ieder geval iets kunt zien. Als het volle maan is dan raad ik je niet aan om de sterren te gaan bewonderen, want door het maanlicht kan je de sterren minder goed zien. Er zijn ook fijne gidsen aanwezig!

the trip itself was ok at best, given that there was a full moon, we did not see the milky way, which was fine, I understand that. but the food was only warm for the meal,,,,,,,, and not really enough for everyone. The guides had set up 2 telescopes and they only pointed them at 2 objects,,,,, "The full moon" which everyone knows is the worst, brightest moon to look at through a telescope.... The Viana Club is at the ends of a dessert road in the middle of nowhere. This is the ideal place for minimum light pollution. We enjoyed local food and drinks and a local singing to us during our meal. Unfortunately, on our night there was cloud cover and not the a star to be seen. However, we followed our guide for a short walk into the dessert and he gave us an excellent informative talk about out plant and much of the rest of the universe. Not seeing the stars didn’t spoil our evening.

I think it was quite expensive for what it was - although a very enjoyable experience. The bus was a little late collecting us from the hotel. This was a little chaotic and people didn't really know what was happening. We had not been forewarned that we would only get a drink with dinner and this included water. The guides were very knowledgeable and made the experience interesting. It would have been nice to lay out in the desert for longer. This should not be available to young children.

Op zich was de trip best leuk, wel veel geld betaald. Tevens vond ik de chauffeur best hard rijden in een nogal onverlichte omgeving. Tevens de 'bus' waarmee we gebracht werden was wel van mindere kwaliteit. Ik zat bijvoorbeeld. Naast de chauffeur, maar moest van de zijkant klimmen om op mijn plek te kunnen zitten.

Sadly it clouded over before our stargazing, however the guides were very well versed in all things to do with astronomy and all staff were super and kept us entertained. The food was lovely (could have done without the grogue though, that said was entertaining watching people’s faces as they tried it!)

I and my partner overall enjoyed the experience. very intermante setting with local food and music. the guides were very knowledgeable and fun. equipment to see the stars close up looked very high tech ( I'm not an expert). this experience depends on cloud cover which is out of anyones control, so I don't think I would have enjoyed it without the star gazing experience. staff all friendly and accommodating. they even sang me Happy Birthday during dessert!

Prima eten en een goede sfeer met live muziek in het restaurant. Na het eten werden we iets de woestijn in begeleid, weg van de lichtvervuiling van het restaurant, en kregen we dekentjes om op te liggen en naar de sterren te kijken. De begeleiding kon echt veel vertellen over de sterren en sterrenbeelden, tevens dmv een hele goede laser. De avond werd afgesloten met een blik op de maan door de telescoop, waarvan een van de begeleiders hele goede foto's kon maken met ieders telefoon. Aanrader!

Helaas was het ontzettend bewolkt tijdens onze Desert Delight. We hebben geen enkele ster kunnen zien en zelfs de maan was niet te zien door de wolken heen. Desondanks was het wel een leuk uitje. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en het restaurant was knus en gezellig. De mensen van het restaurant waren erg vriendelijk.

Overall the experience was enjoyable. We enjoyed the entertainment at the restaurant and the local vibe it gave. Unfortunately a few too many cocktails by some (not the younger people among the group)meant that when we went to see the stars and learn more about them etc it was constantly interrupted by 'comedians'. I appreciate this is out of TUI control and a different group would have given a different experience. The best bit was the moon through the scope.

The transport was much more comfortable than the land cruisers. The food, the music were all very good and very hospitable. The team that host the sky/star gazing etc were first class! Never done anything like this before… although a bit cloudy, it was a memorable experience!

Wir haben den Ausflug mit einer Deutschen Reiseleitung gebucht. Leider wird dort kein deutsch gesprochen bzw auch nicht übersetzt. Etwas mehr Zeit unter dem Sternenhimmel wäre schön gewesen. Außerdem sollte es nicht mit der Milchstraße beworben werden, wenn diese nicht oder schon lange nicht mehr gesehen wurde.

The setting is unique, the restaurant was charming and the ambience was perfect. The two gentlemen providing the music were talented and it really added to the overall experience. The servers were polite and prompt. The food tasted even better than it smelled and I have never had ice cream like it. I’m generally a fussy eater but I enjoyed the pork skewers which had so much flavour. The cocktails were well made. Despite some cloud cover, the guides worked hard to show us what they could.

The restaurant was lovely with delicious food and good drinks choices. The guides were very knowledgeable. The weather was cloudy so we couldn't really see any stars. We were told by our TUI rep that if it was cloudy the experience would be cancelled. We know it's not possible to control the weather, but it did feel like a waste of money.

Bijzondere ervaring! Viana Club was leuk, het lag echt in the middle of nowhere. Het eten was goed en het personeel vriendelijk. De maan was goed te zien door de telescoop, maar helaas was het bewolkt toen wij er waren. We hebben dus bijna geen sterren gezien. Gelukkig was de sfeer alleen het al waard om deze excursie te boeken.

Alles was super. Het was leuk, gezellig en leerzaam. Die drie zet je niet makkelijk samen in 1 zin. Fantastische belevenis. 1 minpuntje..een deel van onze groep kon vertrekken zonder hun toezicht. Dit zou niet mogelijk mogen zijn omdat het in de woestijn ''s nachts pikdonker is en je zomaar in een zandput zou kunnen vallen. Een puntje om aan te werken dus voor de verder uitmuntende gidsen!

Driven out to a remote restaurant, served a buffet of local cuisine (which was delicious) and then the guides from a local conservation company took over. They showed us the moon through powerful telescopes and then we walked into the desert and laid in blankets as they showed us constellations and stars. It was absolutely incredible and we felt incredibly privileged to be a part of it.

Was a brilliant excursion, my partner and I absolutely loved it and would 100% recommend. All staff were so lovely and attentive, the food served at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, the desert walk was so fun and informative, blankets were kindly provided to lay on, unfortunately we didn’t have the best sky and didn’t see a couple of things, but was outstanding either way, did see so many stars and amazing constellations. Drive was quick and felt so safe, would surely do again!

Het was een fantastische ervaring. Het eten was heerlijk. Er waren veel mensen die uitleg gaven over de sterrenhemel. Er was goed materiaal aanwezig om te kijken naar de sterren. En dan op een dekentje liggend op je rug kijken naar de sterren en luisteren naar de uitleg is een ervaring om nooit te vergeten.

Superbe expérience dans le désert avec un guide très sympa. On m’avait dit de prévoir une petite veste si j’étais frileuse… J’aurais mieux fait de prendre un pull ou un plaid car il fait très venteux et j’ai eu froid.

I enjoyed the meal, the staff were super friendly. Made me feel special on my birthday. The person doing the tour was very knowledgeable about the stars and planets. Explained the different positions of the stars in different hemisphere. Sadly it was very cloudy on the day, but we managed to get some good photos of the moon in between cloud breakage. It was a beautiful night.

The vehicle could be updated, as you are on a 30 minute journey to near the airport. There are hidden costs which can be clarified in the marketing. The guides have a god knowledge, and fantastic sense of humour, which lifts the mood.
