Op deze exclusieve tour van een halve dag ontdek je twee sfeervolle kustplaatsen: het dorp Hergla op een klif en de middeleeuwse medina van Sousse. Je leert de kunst van het afdingen in de souks en winkels. En je ervaart het contrast tussen de rustige straten van Hergla met de drukke medina van Sousse. Verder zie je klassieke Tunesische ambachten zoals kleurrijke Kairouan tapijten, geborduurd textiel, koperen lampen, leren slippers en objecten van olijfhout. Karim, een van onze deskundige lokale gidsen, zegt: "Hergla staat bekend om zijn traditionele raffiawerk. Berberse ambachtslieden gebruiken Halfa gras - een droge plant die in de regio groeit - voor het maken van handgeweven objecten, zoals de manden die we gebruiken om fruit, groenten en brood in te bewaren. Een geweldig souvenir, en het neemt weinig plek in in je koffer”.Eerst wandel je door het witgekalkte dorp Hergla, dat boven op de kliffen ligt. Het blauw van de ramen en deuren heeft dezelfde kleur als de onderliggende zee. Je dwaalt door de smalle straten en bekijkt de oude moskee. Ook zie je de mandenvlechters aan het werk. En met een beetje geluk de vissersboten die met hun vangst terugkeren naar de haven.De medina van Sousse ademt de sfeer van het Tunesië uit vervlogen tijden en barst van de activiteit. Karim zegt: "Deze medina is een van de grootste in de islamitische wereld en is omringd door muren. De medina werd in 1988 uitgeroepen tot UNESCO-werelderfgoed vanwege de Arabische architectuur die er al eeuwenlang zo mooi bij ligt. De Grote Moskee en het Ribat fort zijn mijn favoriete monumenten”. Behalve de grote markt in Bab Jadid is ook Bab il Gharbi een echte aanrader. Dit is een geweldige plek om te shoppen, lokale ambachtslieden in actie te zien, streetfood te proeven of een café te bezoeken.

The village was amazing and the guide was very good. Our trip to the Médina was not quite as good as we didn’t have time to explore and were then given a lot of time in a store at the end. Maybe just my thoughts but I would have liked time in smaller shops. Toilet stops took a lot of time!

Trips, advice, friendly & helpful TUI rep. Clean hotel, central, food was excellent .Hotel staff were very helpful . Pool was clean & entertainment staff was friendly & funny. TUI rep on the bus to Eifidua airport she was very helpful , I lost my brown leather purse. Lost & found man in airport horrible he wouldn’t let her see the purse that was found even though she argued in Arabic with him. Thankyou so much even though I did not find it she went up & beyond the call of duty.

Very interesting tour with plenty of time to take photos, learn about the area and even time for some shopping. The guide and driver spoke very good English. Felt very safe travelling on the coach. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.

Tour guide was very informative and arranged a separate bus to take us back to the hotels as there were a lot of stops. No chance to have a good look around the medina or explore Sousse, was given 1hour 15 mins to look in a shopping centre which could have taken us all 20 mins and told not to go anywhere else.

The guided tour through the Medina was good and we felt safe with guide leading us. That said when we had free time when we wondered back into the Medina we generally felt safe and can't help think some of the concerns expressed by others are unwarranted. The coach transfer was a joke - far too many pick ups and was 2.5 hours before we reached Hergla - they even drove past one hotel and had to go back. Redeemed themselves by sorting out better transfer back to our hotel on a different bus.

The tour guide knew his stuff but the village was not what we were told it be like, as for the medina visit, we were given no time to look at local shops we were taken to a shopping mall that we can go to here, overall very disappointing.

We feel the overall tour would have been incredible if only a few things were considered. It was a Welcome tour, took you to multiple places. Make sure those with mobility issues are made very aware. We went on this tour and one woman couldn’t take part in the walking and had to stay on the coach. Next, check dates of tours as you offered us the date which was the second day or Eid, meaning no markets were open. Bring water with you, and stay with a group at all time for your safety.

Great little trip. The guide provided us with lots of information and suggestions about how best to manage the sellers at the market. The trip isn't too long but you are given plenty of time to shop around by yourself once you are shown around first. Be aware that I wasn't able to participate in the first part of the trip as there were loads of steps leading down to the main shopping place due to being in a wheelchair but I think buggies should be fine.

First timeTunisia and I can say we had a amazing time. It was brilliant. All the staffs are very friendly, helpful and just amazing. Went for my Husband 60th birthday with our friend and they decorated our rooms, had a cake made for him and everyone sang him happy birthday which he was surprised as he didn't expect it. Entertainment done by the activities team was very good. Sarah our tui rep was amazing and gave us really good tips that made travelling outside good.

It was nice to see some more of the area, but although the visit to Hergla was informative, the visit to Sousse only included a short 10 minute guide and then left for nearly 2 hours free time.. We would have liked a lot more information and guided walk around Sousse and then maybe just 30-45 mins free time. We could have made our own way to the Medina for a lot less, but booked the tour as we wanted the history and local information a tour normally gives you.

Nidhal was a great tour guide; offering tidbits of information during our journey and making sure we were all well looked after. The hotel at Marhaba Beach was nice with very friendly staff. Hats off to the maids who cleaned the room very well! We both would have enjoyed it more if the food had more of a variety to it rather than being very much the same most nights. We would have liked to see more of a themed night for food. As for entertainment, again would have been nice if it started earlier rather that very late into the night.
